Post-Doctoral Associate – Machine Learning & Human-Computer Interaction

About the role

The Laboratory for Computer‑Human Intelligence (CHI‑lab) in the Division of Engineering at NYU Abu Dhabi seeks a highly motivated Post‑Doctoral Associate to lead cutting‑edge research at the intersection of machine learning and human‑computer interaction. The role focuses on developing novel ML algorithms, enhancing human‑AI collaboration, and building systems for dynamic, human‑centered environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement innovative machine‑learning algorithms that support human‑AI collaboration.
• Conduct research using multi‑modal data such as vision, speech, and physiological signals (e.g., EMG, EEG, ECG).

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science or a related field with no more than five years since graduation.
• Strong publication record in top‑tier conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, CHI, CVPR) and demonstrated ability to mentor junior researchers.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Experience with machine‑learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
