About the role

The Communication Networks Lab at NYU Abu Dhabi, led by Dr. Yasir Zaki, seeks a Post‑Doctoral Associate to advance Internet measurement and equitable Web systems. The lab focuses on measurement‑driven research to improve connectivity, digital inclusion, and Web performance worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate original research questions and lead independent projects.
• Design, build, and evaluate large‑scale measurement systems or studies.
• Publish results in top‑tier networking, systems, or Internet‑measurement venues.
• Mentor junior researchers and collaborate across interdisciplinary teams.
• Contribute to the lab’s broader goal of a more accessible Internet.

Required profile

• PhD (or completed requirements) in Computer Science, EE/CE, Information Science or related field.
• Less than 5 years of post‑doctoral experience.
• Strong peer‑reviewed publication record in venues such as ACM SIGCOMM, IMC, NSDI, etc.
• Proven ability to define and complete original research.
• Excellent programming, experimental, and quantitative‑analysis skills.
• Experience designing reproducible measurement studies or research software.
• Effective written and oral communication.
• Commitment to ethical and reproducible research.
