Postdoctoral Associate Research Fellowship – Humanities

About the role

The NYU Abu Dhabi Humanities Research Fellowship invites scholars to join a residential, full‑time postdoctoral position focused on the study of the Arab world. Fellows will work on independent research projects within the humanities and contribute to the vibrant interdisciplinary community on the Saadiyat campus.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct original research in humanities fields related to the Arab world and its cultural, literary, and historical dimensions.
• Engage with NYUAD’s Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences divisions, collaborating on interdisciplinary initiatives.
• Host a small workshop to share findings with peers and students.
• Produce scholarly outputs such as articles, conference papers, or monographs.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in a humanities discipline relevant to the study of the Arab world.
• Strong research proposal (approximately 3‑5 pages) and curriculum vitae.
• Two letters of reference submitted directly by referees.
• UAE nationals are encouraged to apply.
