Practical Nurse - Orthopedic Ambulatory

About the role

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is hiring Licensed Practical Nurses with orthopedic ambulatory experience, which is mandatory. The Practical Nurse provides patient care according to established care plans under the supervision of Registered Nurses, within the nursing scope of practice, and follows the professional Nurses Code of Conduct for Abu Dhabi. The nurse is not licensed for independent practice.

Key responsibilities

• Complete timely patient admission and ongoing assessments, and update the plan of care based on individual patient needs
• Provide direct care and evaluate outcomes, incorporating family-centered care principles
• Monitor and document patients' condition and the effectiveness of care and interventions
• Assess the educational needs of patients and significant others, taking cultural needs and special concerns into account
• Apply evidence-based practice: follow care protocols, report practice changes supported by evidence, and participate in evaluating patient outcomes
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and family information and respect patient rights
• Integrate the CCAD Professional Practice model and patient safety principles into clinical practice, and report errors and near-misses
• Complete charge capture education and in-service training; capture charges manually in Epic within 24 business hours when they are not captured automatically

Required profile

• Diploma in Nursing or equivalent qualification, with a minimum of three years of nursing curriculum from an accredited program
• At least two years of post-graduate experience
• At least two years of experience in an orthopedic ambulatory setting (mandatory)
• Valid and current national license
• BLS certification from the AHA or an equivalent organization, or obtained within 3 months of employment
• Fluency in written and spoken English

• Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities at once
• Experience with electronic medical records is strongly preferred
