Pre-Sales Engineer - BMS

About the role

Unified Microsystems is hiring a Pre-Sales Engineer in Dubai. The role works with the sales support or account team as a technical expert in customer presentations, defines the technical requirements needed to meet client goals and acts as a link between sales/business development and engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pre-sales technical support focused on Building Management Systems (BMS), including solution design, BOQ preparation and technical documentation.
• Work with vendors to select BMS systems (controllers, sensors, field devices, integration gateways), FDAS panels, switches and structured cabling.
• Review project requirements and help the sales team prepare technically compliant BMS-driven proposals.
• Attend client meetings, present BMS solutions and support clarifications and tender evaluations.
• Ensure proposed designs meet relevant standards, energy efficiency requirements and project specifications.
• Support negotiations and contract closing with BMS-focused technical input.
• Create quotes, bills of quantities and sales proposals on behalf of the sales team.
• Liaise with vendors for technical qualification and solution validation, and provide scoping support to sales representatives.
• Follow up on and close out pending items, ensuring complete documentation for handover to the implementation team.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering or an equivalent course.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in pre-sales, BMS or security systems (fire alarm, CCTV, access control).
• Proven track record of exceeding sales or pre-sales targets.
• Strong written and spoken English; confident and comfortable in client-facing discussions.
• Able to handle pressure, meet deadlines and manage time effectively.

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of BMS, including controllers, sensors, field devices, communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus) and system integration.
• Knowledge of Fire Detection and Alarm Systems (FDAS) and structured cabling, network switches, firewalls and access control.
• Experience selecting and qualifying BMS systems from vendors such as Schneider, Honeywell, Johnson Controls and Siemens.
• Ability to complete technical sales certifications from BMS/FDAS vendors.
