Primary Classroom Teacher (Grades 1-5)

About the role

Virginia American School is seeking enthusiastic Primary Classroom Teachers for Grades 1 to 5. You will join a student‑centred environment that values holistic development and inquiry‑based learning.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality lessons to mixed‑gender classes.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on student progress and attainment.
• Implement effective teaching strategies that cater to diverse learners, including EAL, SEN, Emirati and gifted & talented students.
• Integrate enquiry‑based approaches and real‑world connections into daily instruction.
• Use assessment for, of, and as learning to personalise and accelerate student outcomes.
• Develop short, medium and long‑term curriculum plans for assigned subjects.
• Collaborate with the Principal and fulfil any additional teaching duties as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field with a teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE).
• Minimum of one year of primary classroom teaching experience.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and effective parent engagement.
• Strong classroom management and child‑protection awareness.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Good health and attendance record.
