Primary Teacher

About the role

The Primary Teacher will deliver high‑quality teaching and learning in line with the National Curriculum for England, supporting the school’s vision, values and policies. You will create an engaging, inclusive and stimulating environment that enables every pupil to reach their full academic, social, emotional and personal potential.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons that meet the National Curriculum and the school’s framework.
• Set clear, challenging learning objectives tailored to pupils’ needs and abilities.
• Differentiate instruction for learners with English as an Additional Language, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, and gifted and talented pupils.
• Use a variety of teaching strategies and educational technologies to enhance outcomes.
• Assess pupil progress through formative and summative methods, maintain accurate records and provide constructive feedback.
• Prepare written reports and communicate progress to parents and guardians.
• Maintain a safe, well‑organised classroom and implement the school’s behaviour policy consistently.
• Promote pupil well‑being, social and emotional development, and uphold safeguarding procedures.
• Contribute to curriculum planning, collaborate with colleagues and support cross‑curricular activities.
• Engage with parents, support staff and external agencies as required.

Required profile

• Knowledge of the National Curriculum for England and primary‑phase teaching practices.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for EAL, SEND and gifted learners.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare in accordance with statutory requirements.
• Strong organisational skills for record‑keeping, reporting and classroom management.
