Primary Teacher – Maternity Cover

About the role

Smart Vision School is seeking an enthusiastic Primary Teacher to cover a maternity leave from 19 Oct 2026 to 26 Feb 2027 on a fixed‑term basis. The role involves delivering the National Curriculum for England, ensuring continuity of learning and providing high‑quality pastoral care.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with the National Curriculum for England.
• Maintain high expectations for achievement, behaviour and presentation.
• Use assessment to identify strengths, address gaps and adapt teaching to individual needs.
• Create an inclusive, safe classroom environment supporting SEND, EAL and gifted learners.
• Collaborate with colleagues, teaching assistants and leadership, and contribute to pastoral provision.
• Maintain accurate assessment records and contribute to student reporting.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE with QTS) and relevant bachelor's degree.
• Experience teaching the British curriculum in a primary setting.
• Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for England and effective primary teaching approaches.
• Excellent classroom management and ability to build positive relationships quickly.
• Experience supporting SEND and EAL learners.
• Good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
