Primary Teacher – Maternity Cover (Starting Aug 2026)

About the role

GEMS Wellington Academy – Al Khail is seeking an enthusiastic Primary Teacher to cover a maternity leave starting in August 2026. The successful candidate will join a high‑performing, inclusive school that follows the British National Curriculum and embraces evidence‑informed teaching practices.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons for primary pupils in line with the UK National Curriculum.
• Contribute to the school’s cognitive‑science driven approach by reflecting on and sharing best practice.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary teaching team to maintain outstanding academic standards.
• Participate in professional development programmes such as StepLab coaching and the Cognitive Science Network.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher status – B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of experience teaching the British curriculum.
• Proven record of delivering high‑quality instruction and achieving strong student outcomes.
• Commitment to the school’s core values of ambition, responsibility and courage.

Required skills

• Strong subject knowledge in primary education.
• Ability to implement evidence‑based teaching strategies.
• Experience working within a high‑performing teaching team.
