Principal Data Center Facilities Development Manager

About the role

Leads the construction of data centre facilities for colocation providers, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. Acts as the primary liaison between the company and colocation partners, overseeing design review, commissioning and problem‑solving documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Develops and maintains detailed project schedules and budgets, coordinating with colocation providers to meet milestones across multiple sites.
• Implements quality‑control processes, conducts site walks and leads startup and commissioning phases for major data centre projects.
• Identifies risk gaps, creates mitigation strategies and ensures compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
• Negotiates, selects and manages contracts with external vendors, contractors and suppliers, monitoring performance and contract compliance.
• Oversees the installation of power, cooling, networking and structured cabling systems.

• Demonstrated ability to manage moderately complex construction tasks, monitor timelines and adjust plans as needed.
