Principal Embedded Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Principal Embedded Engineer to develop and maintain embedded software for aerospace and UAV systems in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on delivering high‑performance, reliable, and safety‑critical code that complies with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test embedded software in C/C++ for real‑time and safety‑critical applications.
• Integrate software with hardware components, sensors, and actuators, and implement control algorithms.
• Optimize code performance and ensure compliance with aerospace safety standards such as DO‑178C and DO‑254.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and perform system testing using appropriate tools.
• Maintain technical documentation and support certification activities.
• Collaborate closely with hardware, systems, and quality assurance teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5–7+ years of experience in embedded software development.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C and C++ programming.
• Experience with real‑time operating systems (e.g., FreeRTOS, VxWorks, QNX).
• Knowledge of hardware‑software integration and communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN.
• Familiarity with aerospace safety standards (DO‑178C, DO‑254).
• Use of Git and software debugging tools.
