Principal Engineer - Maritime

About the role

WSP Middle East is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the planning, design and delivery of maritime infrastructure across the region. The role combines technical leadership with project management and client engagement to ensure successful delivery of ports, harbours and marine terminals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, designers and construction professionals.
• Oversee the full project lifecycle from concept through construction for maritime facilities.
• Manage project budgets, schedules and resources to meet time and cost targets.
• Provide technical oversight, review calculations, structural models and engineering documentation.
• Mentor junior staff and promote knowledge sharing within the team.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships and support business development activities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, preferably with a maritime or coastal focus.
• Minimum 10 years of experience delivering maritime infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record in structural design of ports, harbours or marine terminals.
• Demonstrated project management experience on large‑scale engineering programmes.
