Principal Engineer - Maritime

About the role

WSP Middle East Limited is seeking a Principal Maritime Engineer / Project Manager to lead the planning, design and delivery of maritime infrastructure across the region. The role combines deep technical expertise with project‑management and client‑relationship responsibilities, guiding projects from concept through construction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, designers and construction professionals to ensure seamless project execution.
• Oversee planning, design and delivery of ports, harbours and marine terminals, managing budgets, schedules and resources.
• Provide technical oversight, review engineering outputs and ensure compliance with standards and best practices.
• Mentor junior staff, foster knowledge sharing and maintain high engineering quality.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, support business development and contribute to strategic planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, preferably with maritime or coastal specialization.
• Minimum 10 years of experience delivering maritime infrastructure projects, including structural design of deck‑on‑pile, block walls and terminal facilities.
• Proven leadership and people‑management skills with ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and client‑focused approach.
• Professional accreditation such as PE or CEng is desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with project management tools.
• Experience using structural engineering software.
• Working knowledge of BIM environments.
