Principal Equipment Reliability Engineer

About the role

The Principal Equipment Reliability Engineer will lead the development, implementation and execution of Engineering Equipment Reliability (ER) processes at Barakah Nuclear Power Plant. This senior position ensures alignment with INPO AP-913, FSAR requirements and local regulatory expectations, driving safe and reliable plant operation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and rollout of the ER process, incorporating lessons from reference plants such as Shin‑Kori 3 & 4.
• Develop and maintain programs including Functional Importance Determination (FID), Functional Equipment Group (FEG), Preventive Maintenance (PM) templates, Single Point of Vulnerability (SPV) and System Health Monitoring.
• Manage master equipment data, ensuring accurate database population for analysis and performance tracking.
• Identify and implement software tools required for ER analysis, and lead the creation of the ER Index (ERI) to monitor plant health.
• Establish and operate the Monitoring & Diagnostic (M&D) centre to provide centralized data gathering and analysis.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance and Work Management to align reliability initiatives across the plant.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in nuclear or high‑hazard industrial reliability engineering.
• Deep knowledge of INPO AP‑913, FSAR and local nuclear regulatory expectations.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive process improvement.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on data‑driven decision making.
