Principal Instrumentation Designer

About the role

The Principal Instrumentation Designer leads the instrumentation design discipline, ensuring high‑quality deliverables and coordinating multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and develop conceptual, FEED, and detailed design drawings and 3D models, guaranteeing clash‑free integration with other disciplines.
• Lead small to medium instrumentation design teams, plan resources, and manage scope, schedule, and budget in line with project specifications and MDR procedures.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customers, vendors, and subcontractors, handling change notifications, variation orders, and technical queries.
• Review and incorporate vendor data, conduct single‑discipline and inter‑discipline checks, and maintain design documentation and archives.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in instrumentation design for offshore or industrial projects.
• Proven ability to lead design teams, coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces, and manage project deliverables.
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement and documentation of technical decisions.

Required skills

• 3D modeling and clash detection.
• Instrumentation design, FEED studies, and detailed drawing production.
• Material and weight take‑offs, wiring/loop diagrams, and panel schematics.
