Principal Lead, API & AI Enterprise Integration Services

About the role

The Principal Lead will define and drive the strategic vision for API, AI and domain services engineering across First Abu Dhabi Bank's value streams. This senior leader will break legacy systems into reusable, discoverable services and build scalable, secure platforms that enable digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams to build robust, reusable domain services and APIs.
• Define and evolve the enterprise API, AI and domain‑services strategy.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects and value‑stream leads to identify common capabilities and create shared services.
• Ensure platform services are extensible, discoverable, well‑documented and compliant with governance, risk and regulatory requirements.
• Adopt emerging technologies such as GenAI Agentic and champion modern engineering practices.
• Maintain delivery roadmaps, capacity plans and resource forecasts while tracking KPIs and audit metrics.

Required profile

• 15+ years of overall experience with at least 10 years in banking.
• Proven ability to lead high‑performing engineering teams and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Strong track record of translating enterprise goals into platform engineering strategies and driving platform modernization.
• Experience collaborating across architecture, security, infrastructure and operations to align services with business outcomes.
