Principal Lead – API & AI Enterprise Integration Services

About the role

Define and lead the strategic vision for API, AI, and domain services engineering across the bank’s value streams. Break legacy systems into reusable, modular, discoverable API services that can be consumed across the organization. Provide engineering leadership to build secure, scalable platforms that drive digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams to build robust domain services and promote API reuse across value streams.
• Define and evolve the enterprise API, AI, and domain services strategy in collaboration with product owners, architects, and engineering leads.
• Identify common capabilities and develop shared services that support multiple business domains.
• Ensure platform services are extensible, discoverable, well‑documented, and compliant with IT governance, risk, and regulatory requirements.
• Adopt emerging technologies such as Generative AI agents and champion modern engineering practices.
• Maintain delivery roadmaps, capacity plans, and resource forecasts while tracking KPIs and audit metrics.

Required profile

• 15+ years of overall experience with at least 10 years in banking.
• Proven ability to implement API‑first approaches and drive platform modernization.
• Experience ensuring architectural integrity, scalability, and performance of platform components.
• Track record of building and mentoring high‑performing engineering teams.
