Principal Navigation Engineer – Advanced Aerospace Systems

About the role

The Principal Navigation Engineer will lead the development, integration, analysis and verification of cutting‑edge aerospace navigation systems for EDGE. You will own navigation requirements, architectures and algorithms, ensuring performance across nominal, degraded and GNSS‑denied conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, tune and verify navigation algorithms and sensor‑fusion solutions.
• Define navigation requirements, error budgets, architectures and verification criteria.
• Perform performance analysis, Monte Carlo, covariance and robustness studies.
• Support MIL, SIL, PIL, HIL, laboratory, ground‑test and flight‑test activities.
• Mentor engineers, provide technical leadership and conduct peer reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical/Electronic, Control, Mechanical, Robotics, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in aerospace, defence, robotics or safety‑critical systems with substantial navigation expertise.
• Hands‑on experience with inertial, GNSS, aided or resilient navigation systems.
• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.

Required skills

• MATLAB and Simulink.
• Navigation algorithms, sensor‑fusion and estimation filters (Kalman, EKF, UKF).
• Inertial navigation, GNSS‑denied and resilient navigation techniques.
• Monte Carlo, covariance, sensitivity and robustness analysis.
• MIL/SIL/PIL/HIL testing and data analysis.
