Principal RCS Engineer – Stealth & Radar Cross‑Section Specialist

About the role

EDGE Group is seeking a Principal RCS Engineer to lead the design, analysis and integration of low‑observable features for advanced platforms. The role combines deep electromagnetic theory with practical engineering to mature absorber materials and ensure stealth performance without compromising aerodynamics or structural integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Design and optimise low‑observable (LO) features, including shaping, material selection and internal component arrangement.
• Perform detailed radar cross‑section (RCS) analysis using CST Microwave Studio and in‑house computational tools.
• Collaborate with aerodynamic and structures teams to iterate stealth shaping while respecting aerodynamic, stability and structural constraints.
• Develop and validate physics‑based models for signature prediction and mitigation.
• Support planning and execution of compact range, anechoic chamber, open‑air and flight testing, and analyse test data to correlate with computational models.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electromechanical, Aerospace Engineering, Physics or a related field; Ph.D. highly preferred.
• 5–10 years of experience in electromagnetic engineering, preferably focused on radar low‑observable or RCS reduction.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computational electromagnetics tools such as CST Microwave Studio, FEKO or HFSS.
• Experience with scientific programming languages (Python, MATLAB) for data analysis and automation.
• Knowledge of RF measurement techniques and equipment including vector network analyzers and spectrum analyzers.
