Principal/Associate Transport Planner – Mobility

About the role

WSP Middle East is looking for an experienced Principal/Associate Transport Planner to lead mobility strategy and transport master planning across major development projects in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. You will act as the mobility lead, managing client interfaces, coordinating with authorities, and guiding technical delivery from feasibility through detailed master planning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and delivery of transport master plans, impact studies, mobility strategies and feasibility studies for large‑scale master planning projects.
• Develop multimodal transport solutions covering road access, internal circulation, parking, active mobility, public transport integration, marine/island access and emerging mobility options.
• Provide transport planning advice for mixed‑use, TOD, tourism, island, civic, residential and government‑led developments.
• Coordinate with master planners, infrastructure engineers, sustainability, environment, smart‑city and security teams to integrate transport requirements.
• Define trip generation, parking strategies, active mobility networks, public transport interfaces and mitigation measures.
• Oversee transport modelling inputs, review outputs and translate findings into clear client‑facing recommendations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in transport planning and mobility strategy for complex, multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong ability to manage client relationships and coordinate with government authorities.
• Comfortable working with cross‑disciplinary teams including road design, utilities, sustainability and smart‑city experts.
• Demonstrated capability to deliver technical outputs from concept through approval stages.
