Process Commissioning Superintendent – Offshore Water Injection Project

About the role

The Process Commissioning Superintendent will lead all commissioning activities for a major offshore water injection project in the UAE. Based initially in Abu Dhabi, the role will transition to the fabrication yard and later to the offshore site during execution and startup phases.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute pre‑commissioning, commissioning, startup, performance testing and handover of water injection facilities.
• Develop and implement commissioning execution plans, procedures and schedules, and report progress to project management and client representatives.
• Oversee system walkdowns, punch‑list management, mechanical completion, hydro‑testing, flushing, cleaning, leak testing and drying.
• Lead commissioning and startup of water injection systems, produced water treatment, chemical injection, utility, filtration and pumping packages.
• Coordinate brownfield modifications, tie‑ins and SIMOPS interfaces to minimise disruption to existing offshore production.
• Ensure strict compliance with HSE and process safety procedures, including HAZID, HAZOP, PSSR and emergency shutdown systems.
• Manage vendor and contractor coordination, resolve technical issues and incorporate vendor recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 18 years of oil & gas experience with at least 8 years in commissioning and startup leadership.
• Extensive offshore EPC commissioning experience, especially on water injection and brownfield projects.
• Experience with ADNOC offshore projects is highly preferred.
• Commissioning certifications, Process Safety Management training and relevant safety qualifications are advantageous.
