Procurement Engineer - Civil and Marine

About the role

Six Construct, a subsidiary of the BESIX Group, is the largest Belgian construction company operating in the Middle East, working on commercial and residential buildings, sport and leisure facilities, infrastructure and marine projects. The Procurement Engineer supports complex marine and heavy civil projects by ensuring timely, cost-effective and technically compliant procurement of materials, equipment and specialist subcontract packages, working closely with engineering, construction, planning and commercial teams.

Key responsibilities

• Execute procurement of marine and infrastructure packages: piling systems (steel, precast, CFA, bored piles), steel structures, precast and in-situ concrete elements, dredging works and marine plant, fender systems, bollards, quay accessories, geotextiles, rock armour, revetments, temporary works materials and specialist subcontract packages.
• Prepare RFQs with correct scope, drawings, specifications, BOQs and method constraints.
• Coordinate with Engineering on design intent, constructability, temporary works and marine methodology, and float enquiries to approved suppliers and specialist subcontractors.
• Perform techno-commercial evaluations and comparison sheets, and clarify technical and commercial points with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Support negotiations on pricing, delivery schedules, logistics and marine constraints.
• Prepare procurement recommendations and award documentation, issue LOIs, POs and subcontract agreements within approval limits, and maintain procurement logs, long-lead item trackers and delivery schedules.
• Ensure compliance with BESIX procurement procedures, ethical standards, orders and supplier records.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
• At least 5 years of proven procurement experience in the construction industry in the Middle East, focused on civil marine projects.
• Prior experience in KSA is highly preferred.
• Experience conducting supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality and safety regulations.
