Procurement Officer – Chemicals, Minerals & Fertilizers

About the role

Our client, a leading chemical trading company, is looking for a Procurement Officer to lead the sourcing and purchasing of chemicals, minerals and fertilizers. The role involves close collaboration with manufacturers, suppliers and traders to ensure timely and cost‑effective supply.

Key responsibilities

• Source and procure chemicals, minerals and fertilizers according to business needs.
• Identify, evaluate and select suitable manufacturers, suppliers and traders.
• Manage supplier sourcing, evaluation and negotiation activities.
• Negotiate pricing, minimum order quantities, lead times and shipping terms.
• Handle international purchasing and coordinate import procedures.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with chemical suppliers.
• Conduct regular supplier follow‑ups to meet procurement requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of procurement experience in the chemical industry (mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of chemical suppliers and an established supplier network.
• Experience in regional chemical procurement is preferred.
• Proven ability to source chemicals, minerals and fertilizers.
• Familiarity with pricing, MOQ, lead times and shipping terms.
• Understanding of international purchasing and import procedures.
