Procurement Officer - Infrastructure Construction

About the role

An experienced Procurement Officer is sought to join the procurement team in Dubai. The role covers sourcing construction materials, obtaining competitive quotations, checking technical compliance and securing materials at the best commercial terms for ongoing and upcoming infrastructure projects across the UAE. It calls for strong knowledge of the UAE construction market, supplier networks and infrastructure materials, and the ability to verify compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Sourcing and procuring construction materials, equipment and services for infrastructure and road construction projects
• Obtaining and evaluating quotations from suppliers and subcontractors across the UAE
• Verifying that proposed materials comply with project specifications, technical requirements and client standards
• Coordinating with project teams, engineers and quantity surveyors on procurement needs
• Negotiating prices, delivery schedules and commercial terms
• Monitoring market prices and maintaining knowledge of material cost trends and supplier capabilities
• Building relationships with suppliers, manufacturers and distributors throughout the UAE
• Issuing purchase orders and monitoring delivery performance
• Identifying alternative suppliers and materials to support value engineering and cost savings
• Supporting tendering and estimation teams with current market pricing and supplier information

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related field
• 5+ years of procurement experience in UAE construction, especially infrastructure, road, highway or utility projects
• Strong knowledge of UAE suppliers, materials markets and technical specification verification
• Understanding of construction drawings and project requirements
• Preferred: experience with asphalt/bituminous products, aggregates, road marking/safety products, drainage/utility materials, concrete/precast elements, geotextiles, reinforcement steel, pipes and fittings
• Valid UAE driving licence preferred
