Procurement Officer

About the role

Property Care is building a formal procurement function to support its maintenance and renovation business. The Procurement Officer will lead day‑to‑day purchasing activities, set up processes, and ensure cost‑effective, compliant sourcing of materials and subcontracted services.

Key responsibilities

• Support the establishment of the procurement department by documenting vision, policies, SOPs, roles, workflows and approval matrices.
• Manage end‑to‑end purchasing: process requisitions, issue RFQs/POs, track deliveries, verify invoices and resolve discrepancies.
• Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors on price, quality, compliance and lead times.
• Maintain the supplier database, conduct performance checks and oversee onboarding and due‑diligence documentation.
• Monitor stock levels, coordinate reorders and assist with inventory control.
• Track procurement spend against budget, produce regular reports and analyse data for cost‑saving opportunities.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, health & safety, legal and ethical standards and maintain audit‑ready records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Construction Management or a related field.
• 2–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in construction, maintenance, renovation or facilities management.
• Hands‑on experience with procurement/ERP systems; involvement in software implementation is a plus.
• Strong negotiation and supplier‑management capabilities.
• Proficiency in MS Excel with solid data‑analysis and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication, organization and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Fluent English; additional regional languages are advantageous.
