Procurement Specialist – Chemical Industry

About the role

We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to join an international chemical distributor in Dubai. The role combines strategic sourcing with day‑to‑day supplier management, supporting a fast‑paced, multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and manage a global portfolio of chemical suppliers, ensuring cost, quality and delivery performance.
• Lead negotiations on pricing, incoterms, quality agreements and payment terms; manage contracts, NDAs, MOUs and SLAs.
• Monitor market trends, cost drivers and regulatory changes to shape sourcing strategies.
• Drive cost‑optimization initiatives and track measurable savings.
• Collaborate with product, sales, supply chain, finance, QA and country teams to align procurement with business needs.
• Support the procurement side of the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and coordinate import/export logistics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• 4–7 years of international procurement or sourcing experience in the chemical industry, preferably within a distribution environment.
• Strong understanding of chemical markets, product specifications and international trade practices.
• Proven experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts.
• Excellent analytical abilities to interpret market data and support decision‑making.
• Fluency in English (both written and spoken).

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems and procurement tools.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
