Product Development Engineer – Automotive Accessories

About the role

We are looking for a mid‑level Product Development Engineer to lead the design, sourcing and launch of automotive accessories and vehicle‑integrated products. The role combines hands‑on product development from concept through prototype to production with close collaboration with suppliers, OEM customers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D CAD models and technical drawings for metal, plastic and electronic‑integrated accessories, ensuring DFM/DFA compliance and cost targets.
• Coordinate prototype development, testing and validation (fitment, durability, vibration, temperature) and manage OEM submission documentation.
• Support technical sourcing by evaluating global suppliers, reviewing tooling concepts and preparing RFQs with detailed specifications.
• Maintain BOMs, tolerance stack‑ups and manufacturing‑ready documentation, and drive cost‑optimization through engineering analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• 4–8 years of experience in automotive product development or accessory engineering.
• Strong hands‑on experience with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA or NX.
• Practical knowledge of injection molding, sheet‑metal, extrusion and assembly processes.

Required skills

• 3D CAD modelling (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX or equivalent).
• Excel for cost and BOM analysis.
• Understanding of automotive fitment, PPAP, FMEA and APQP quality systems.
• Experience evaluating international suppliers and reviewing tooling concepts.
