Production Engineer - PCB Assembly Operations

About the role

EDGE, an advanced technology group headquartered in the UAE and focused on defence and emerging technologies, is hiring a Production Engineer for its PCB assembly operations in Abu Dhabi. The engineer studies how products must be manufactured on the production line, including process optimisation, quality improvement and cost and waste reduction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead industrialization, including tooling, fixture design and automation, to move smoothly from prototype to mass production
• Cooperate with the Design for Advanced Manufacturing (DFAM) function on new products
• Identify, communicate and manage discrepancies between the engineering data pack and the manufacturing data pack
• Carry out feasibility studies and cost analysis of new manufacturing technologies and equipment
• Participate in the Material Review Board (MRB)
• Communicate production issues to the relevant departments and coordinate and implement engineering changes on the shop floor
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and drive continuous improvement to boost efficiency and quality
• Drive objectives to achieve production KPIs (safety, quality, delivery, cost) and stay informed of electronics manufacturing trends

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a Production Engineer, preferably in the defence sector
• Bachelor's degree in engineering; fluent English required
• Preferred: experience in electronics (PCBA) manufacturing, a Master's degree in Production Engineering or a related discipline, IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 trainer-level certification

Required skills

• Working knowledge of MES systems, ERP integration and data analytics for process control (preferred)
