Production Manager - Facade

About the role

A production manager for a facade company oversees the manufacturing and installation processes of building facades. The role covers managing resources, ensuring quality control, coordinating with clients and other stakeholders, and keeping production schedules on track.

Key responsibilities

• Planning and scheduling: develop and manage production schedules to meet project deadlines, and coordinate with project managers, architects and engineers so design specifications are met.
• Resource management: allocate labour, materials and equipment efficiently, monitor inventory and order materials as needed.
• Quality control: implement quality procedures so products meet industry standards, and conduct inspections and supervise testing.
• Team management: lead and supervise production teams, provide training and support, and foster a safe and productive workplace.
• Cost management: monitor production costs, implement cost-saving measures and prepare and manage production budgets.
• Process improvement: identify improvements in the production process, stay up to date with industry trends and technologies, and communicate project progress to clients while addressing their concerns.
• Compliance: ensure production complies with safety regulations and industry standards, and keep accurate documentation and records.

Required profile

• Degree in construction management, engineering or a related field.
• Several years of experience in construction or manufacturing, preferably with a focus on facade systems.
• Project management certification (e.g. PMP) and relevant industry certifications are beneficial.

Required skills

• Leadership and team management, project management and quality assurance and control.
• Budgeting and cost management, problem-solving and decision-making, effective communication.
• Knowledge of facade systems and materials.
• Technical proficiency with project management software such as Microsoft Project and Primavera, and CAD software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
