Professional Interior Designer / Architect – Interiors

About the role

Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) in Dubai is seeking a Professional Interior Designer / Architect to join its collaborative design practice. Key responsibilities

• Develop strong conceptual designs and integrate interdisciplinary criteria for large‑scale or small‑scale interior projects.
• Apply advanced knowledge of interior architecture, building materials, finishes, systems, specifications, and current building and fire codes.
• Produce design and construction documentation across all project phases, including FF&E selection and detailing.
• Manage time and workload for self and junior staff, ensuring project deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Mentor and train less experienced team members, fostering a collaborative team culture.

Required profile

• Professional degree in Architecture and/or Interior Design.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent knowledge.
• Progressing toward professional licensure; LEED accreditation strongly preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• High proficiency in Revit and BIM tools.
• Experience with Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, Navisworks, Ladybug, Enscape, and VR.
• Proficiency in Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
• Understanding of sustainable design strategies and LEED or other green building rating systems.
