Programmer Analyst

About the role

The College of Technological Innovation at Zayed University seeks a Programmer Analyst to support research and development activities. Reporting to the Dean, you will transform faculty research prototypes into mature, commercially‑ready software tools that meet strict technical specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Collect system requirements and design, develop, test, and maintain information systems.
• Implement proof‑of‑concepts and research prototypes into functional software tools.
• Conduct verification and validation of published methods and algorithms using experimental and simulation datasets.
• Rapidly develop prototypes and innovative products in cyber security, digital forensics, and big data analytics.
• Propose and apply optimisation techniques to existing research solutions.
• Document experimental results and produce technical reports and user manuals.
• Participate actively in faculty‑led research projects.
• Provide occasional lab support for installation, configuration and deployment of hardware and software, including servers, storage and virtual technologies.
• Communicate effectively with faculty, staff and students and maintain professional relationships.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related IT discipline (Master’s preferred).
• At least 4 years of experience in research and development or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work collegially with diverse stakeholders.
• Willingness to support laboratory infrastructure as needed.
