Project Director – Large‑Scale Civil Construction

About the role

The Project Director will lead the planning, execution and delivery of large‑scale civil construction and infrastructure projects. This senior position ensures projects meet approved objectives, schedules and budgets while aligning with client expectations and organisational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement project execution strategies that comply with contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Direct multidisciplinary teams of project managers, engineers, consultants, contractors and subcontractors to achieve milestones.
• Monitor progress, productivity and performance indicators, applying corrective actions when needed.
• Manage budgets, cost‑control measures, financial forecasts and resource allocation to optimise profitability.
• Maintain effective relationships with clients, government authorities, consultants and utility providers.
• Oversee contract administration, including compliance, variation orders, claims and dispute resolution.
• Identify, evaluate and mitigate project risks through proactive planning.
• Ensure health, safety, environmental and sustainability standards are upheld on all sites.
• Review and approve construction methodologies, schedules, procurement plans and resource deployment.
• Lead project review meetings and provide progress, financial and strategic updates to executive management.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale civil construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of contractual requirements, client expectations and regulatory standards.
• Ability to manage and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent risk‑management and financial control capabilities.
• Solid understanding of health, safety, environmental and sustainability practices.
