Project Director – Roads & Infrastructure

About the role

SEE Engineering is looking for an experienced Project Director to lead its new roads and infrastructure portfolio in Sharjah. The role oversees planning, execution and delivery of all projects, ensuring they meet time, budget, quality and safety targets while aligning with client expectations and organisational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the full roads and infrastructure project portfolio.
• Develop and implement delivery strategies, policies and procedures across all projects.
• Lead, mentor and manage project managers and their multidisciplinary teams.
• Review and approve execution plans, budgets, schedules and resource mobilisation.
• Monitor portfolio performance, risks and financial health, taking corrective action as needed.
• Allocate resources, plant and manpower to meet priorities and commitments.
• Maintain senior‑level relationships with clients, consultants, government authorities and key stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory and safety standards.
• Lead resolution of high‑level issues, claims and disputes and oversee commercial strategy.
• Support business development, tendering and client presentations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s in Engineering Management or MBA preferred.
• 15‑20+ years of experience in roads, highways and infrastructure construction, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of delivering large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Professional engineering licence (e.g., PE, Chartered Engineer) and PMP or equivalent certification preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of design, construction and contract management, including FIDIC.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project and ERP systems.
• Ability to manage multicultural teams and large contractor/sub‑contractor networks.
• Familiarity with UAE authority regulations and permitting processes.
