Project Engineer – Fire & Safety Projects

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Project Engineer to lead fire and safety projects from planning through commissioning. The role involves coordinating with consultants, contractors and internal teams to deliver projects on time, within budget and in compliance with all relevant standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute fire‑protection and safety projects from initiation to hand‑over.
• Review project drawings, specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise installation, testing and commissioning of sprinklers, hydrants, pumps, fire alarms and suppression systems.
• Monitor progress, budgets and quality, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA, civil‑defence and local fire‑authority regulations.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation and progress reports.
• Provide on‑site technical support and resolve issues during execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience delivering fire‑safety projects.
• Strong knowledge of fire‑protection systems and ability to read engineering drawings.
• Excellent organisational and leadership abilities.
• Effective communication and coordination skills.

Required skills

• Fire‑protection systems (sprinklers, hydrants, pumps, fire‑alarm and suppression systems).
• Interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.
• AutoCAD.
• Project scheduling tools.
• Knowledge of NFPA, civil‑defence and local fire‑authority regulations.
• Integrated building systems such as BMS, access‑control and CCTV (preferred).
