Project Engineer - Hardware & Infrastructure

About the role

Dautom, an IT consulting partner, supports a client, a globally recognized industry leader, by connecting it with talent for its strategic initiatives. It is hiring a Project Engineer in Dubai who will oversee the engineering lifecycle of hardware products, create design solutions and documentation, and coordinate technical and management aspects of projects.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the engineering lifecycle of hardware products, including architecture, design and implementation
• Create civil and mechanical design solutions and documentation
• Source, select and qualify components, and investigate alternatives for lower cost or better quality and reliability
• Develop plans, specifications and estimates for transportation infrastructure projects, and review field conditions for constructability
• Define product and customer package requirements, develop new packaging and maintain quality of existing packages
• Plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate projects; monitor schedules, site safety and legal regulations, and assist the team during site execution
• Prepare daily reports, project designs, shop drawings, submittals and technical proposals, and present at project meetings
• Ensure compliance with codes, practices, policies and specifications, and coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and vendors

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech or B.A) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering from a four-year college or university
• Typically a minimum of 5 years of related experience
• Valid UAE driving licence (mandatory)
• Knowledge of UAE laws and regulations and familiarity with NOC procedures is an added advantage

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD for engineering design packages
• Advantageous: MicroStation, MS Project and Visio
• Networking skills, including industrial-grade network switches, servers, RFID, laser products and fibre optics
• Ability to read and interpret RFP documents and prepare technical proposals
