Project Engineer - LV Switchgear Estimation & Design

About the role

An experienced LV Switchgear Estimation & Design Engineer is sought within the Engineering / Projects department. The role covers independent handling of customer enquiries and tenders, technical reviews, BOQ/BOM preparation, panel design, technical clarifications and client/consultant meetings, with leadership and commercial skills supporting revenue targets, cost control and project execution.

Key responsibilities

• Review customer enquiries, tender documents, technical specifications and electrical drawings.
• Prepare technical and commercial quotations for LV switchgear panels.
• Prepare panel layouts, GA drawings, schematic drawings and detailed engineering drawings.
• Prepare material lists, technical submittals and replies to consultant comments, and prepare BOQs and review BOMs.
• Ensure compliance with IEC/IS standards and handle technical clarifications and meetings with clients, consultants and contractors.
• Coordinate with sales, procurement, production, quality control and project teams, and identify cost-effective alternatives.
• Coordinate factory acceptance tests (FAT) and consultant inspections, and monitor project progress, scope variations and delivery schedules.
• Maintain estimation records, costing databases and project documentation, and guide team members.

Required profile

• 5-7 years of UAE experience in LV switchgear estimation, design and project execution.
• Mandatory experience in LV switchgear manufacturing.
• Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Leadership and team management experience preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of LV panel design, power and control components and electrical systems.
• Tendering, costing, BOQ/BOM preparation and technical/commercial quotations.
• Independent panel drawing preparation in AutoCAD.
• Good knowledge of IEC/IS standards and LV switchgear requirements.
• FAT, technical inspections and coordination with consultants and contractors.
