Project Engineer – Pump Packages

About the role

Independently lead the execution of complex pump package projects across NOV's Production and Midstream Technology portfolio, delivering on contractual scope, schedule, budget, quality, HSE and customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead pump package projects from hand‑over through engineering, procurement, fabrication, testing, shipment, commissioning support and close‑out.
• Develop and maintain MS Project schedules, risk registers, material tracking and change logs.
• Monitor progress, cost exposure, milestones and invoicing; take corrective actions to protect plans and budgets.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, manufacturing, inspection and logistics interfaces.
• Lead technical meetings, review drawings and vendor documents, and manage change requests and scope variations.
• Maintain customer communication, perform vendor visits, FAT and commissioning support, and ensure compliance with ISO, API, ASME, ATEX and DNV standards.

• Proven track record leading complex pump package projects with multiple interfaces.
• Ability to manage critical‑path activities, risk and change across concurrent projects.
• Strong customer focus, commercial awareness and sound judgment.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Leadership capability and effective decision‑making under pressure.

Required skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or Process Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years project engineering experience, including 5 years in pump/package execution.
• Knowledge of pumps, diesel/gas engines, motors, gearboxes, couplings, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Familiarity with ATEX, ANSI, API, ASME standards and API 674/676 pump packages.
• Experience with electrical installations, VFD, PLC, soft starters and package automation.
• Proficiency in MS Project, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and 3D solid modelling.
• Experience with ERP systems such as JDE, SAP or Oracle.
