Project Finance Business Partner

About the role

The Project Finance Business Partner acts as a trusted financial partner to Project Management and Operations, focusing on validating and assuring the accuracy of project financial forecasts in construction and large, complex project environments.

Key responsibilities

• Independently review project forecasts, challenge assumptions, and identify gaps, inconsistencies and emerging financial risks.
• Validate project valuations, reconcile on‑site progress with financial performance, and flag productivity, sequencing, subcontractor and site risks.
• Support bid stage cost build‑ups, margin analysis, and payment milestone structures; review contracts, variations and change orders.
• Validate revenue recognition under IFRS 15, review month‑end cost capture, accrued and deferred revenue, and ensure billing milestones align.
• Track project billing, collections, retentions and provide cash inputs to regional cash forecasts.
• Produce monthly project portfolio reports, feed validated forecasts into company budgets, and present performance to finance leadership.
• Review project‑related month‑end journals, support year‑end audit and assist with VAT and WHT treatment of invoices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field, plus ACCA, ACA, CPA or CMA qualification.
• 8+ years of finance experience, including 5+ years in project finance, project controls or commercial finance within construction, events or similar project‑based businesses.
• Hands‑on experience with site visits and project valuations (percent complete, earned value, cost‑to‑complete).
• Strong understanding of project contracts, change orders, cost forecasting and margin management.
• Working knowledge of IFRS 15 for long‑term contracts.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and financial modelling.
• Experience with Epicor or similar ERP/project costing system.
• Knowledge of UAE and KSA VAT and withholding tax.
