Project Manager - Buildings

About the role

The Real Estate Developments Division delivers operational real estate projects at Expo City Dubai, working with stakeholders from master planning through design and construction. The Project Manager - Buildings is responsible for delivering all aspects of capital works building projects, from contract kick-off to project completion.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multiple buildings' work packages in parallel
• Review consultant and contractor IFC designs for scope gaps, technical issues and improvement opportunities
• Review pre-construction documents such as shop drawings, material and equipment submittals, quality plans and method statements
• Track contractor submissions, technical, procurement and long-lead items
• Take part in technical coordination meetings with consultants, contractors and utility providers
• Monitor construction progress, schedules, KPIs and quality control/auditing
• Manage on-site interfaces between projects, contracts and logistics
• Review testing and commissioning activities and liaise with the Commissioning Authority
• Support the close-out strategy, record drawings and O&M manuals, and assist the commercial team with valuation and change control
• Produce project reports and provide updates to Senior Managers and Directors
• Monitor and coordinate package contractors' works on site

Required profile

• 6 years of industry experience, including at least 2 years in a similar role
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related degree
• Experience in large community development projects
• Fluent spoken and written English and good communication skills
• Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
• Good knowledge of Dubai local authority processes and FIDIC contractor forms

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of building construction, including mid-rise, high-rise and low-rise developments
• Knowledge of authorities' approval requirements and processes
• Discipline-specific professional registration preferred (CIBSE, IMechE, MEIT, PMP)
