Proposal Manager

About the role

A leading buildings, infrastructure engineering and advisory firm with over 90 years of experience across Africa and the Middle East is looking for a Proposal Manager. The role gives operational, coordination and administrative support to the Business Development Director, focusing on pipeline tracking, proposal coordination, client research and bid support. It does not own client relationships or originate opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate end-to-end bids, turning RFPs and ToRs into compliant, high-quality proposals
• Develop proposal outlines, compliance matrices, win themes and value propositions, and maintain proposal tools, templates and case studies
• Track the Resources Business Unit pipeline, apply qualification criteria and report on pipeline health, risks, values and probabilities
• Maintain accurate opportunity data in CRM systems and trackers
• Support client engagement planning, prepare intelligence packs and log new opportunities for the Business Development Director
• Help translate client needs into solutions, prepare project references and capability statements, and support technical positioning
• Support pricing strategies, commercial governance documentation and business development process improvements
• Take part in win/loss reviews and act as the interface between business development and technical teams

Required profile

• 5-10 years' experience in mining, oil, gas or consulting
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or quantity surveying
• Professional registration
• Experience supporting EOIs, RFQs and RFP submissions
• Experience with multidisciplinary teams (technical, commercial, legal)

Required skills

• Familiarity with CRM systems, tender portals and proposal tools is advantageous
• Experience in mining, oil, gas, infrastructure or related sectors is advantageous
