QA Engineer – API Testing (Open Finance)

About the role

We are looking for a QA Engineer to lead testing and quality assurance of Open Finance APIs within a leading banking environment. The role combines manual and automated testing to ensure reliable, secure integration of banking systems, data platforms and event‑driven services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and execute manual and automated test scenarios for Open Finance platforms and API ecosystems.
• Build and maintain API automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright, TypeScript, Rest Assured or PyTest.
• Perform comprehensive testing of REST APIs, integration services and enterprise data platforms.
• Validate data accuracy through SQL queries, database testing and backend verification.
• Test event‑driven integrations, including Kafka‑based messaging services.
• Develop reusable automation scripts and continuously improve testing frameworks.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners and vendor teams to ensure quality delivery.
• Participate in defect triage, root‑cause analysis, retesting and release validation.
• Support CI/CD testing processes and adhere to banking security, governance and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• 5–12 years of experience in QA engineering, both manual and automation.
• Strong background in banking or financial services.
• Proven experience testing enterprise APIs, Open Finance platforms or data‑management systems.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.
