Quantity Surveyor – Construction Contracting

About the role

A client of Agile Consultants is hiring a Quantity Surveyor in Dubai to join its contracting team. The role covers post-contract quantity surveying, cost control, invoicing, variations and claims. The ideal candidate has 4-5 years of GCC experience, preferably in the UAE construction industry.

Key responsibilities

• Handle post-contract and quantity surveying activities
• Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings and project specifications
• Develop Bills of Materials (BOM) and cost estimates
• Analyse drawings and contract documents for project requirements
• Monitor project costs, maintain cost reports and track expenditures against approved budgets
• Prepare, evaluate and negotiate variation orders, and prepare contractual claims and Extensions of Time (EOT)
• Verify subcontractor measurements, valuations and payment certificates
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and support management with profitability assessments and forecasting
• Coordinate with the site and procurement teams on commercial matters and keep accurate records of costs, variations and claims

Required profile

• 3-5 years of GCC experience, preferably in the UAE construction industry
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Strong knowledge of quantity surveying, cost control, invoicing, variations and claims management
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Required skills

• Proficiency in quantity take-offs and cost monitoring
• PlanSwift or similar quantity take-off software
• Advanced Microsoft Office
• AutoCAD
