Quantity Surveyor (Firefighting & Fire Alarm Systems)

About the role

NAFFCO is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join its Maintenance Department in Dubai. The role prepares bills of quantities, estimates and cost reports for firefighting and fire alarm maintenance works, helping teams manage budgets and deliver accurate, efficient projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed bills of quantities, quantity take-offs, cost estimates and pricing schedules for maintenance works.
• Review work orders, scope of work, drawings, specifications and technical documents to ensure accurate quantity measurements.
• Prepare cost estimates and monitor project budgets to ensure cost efficiency.
• Maintain records of quantities, material rates, labour costs and other project-related expenses.
• Identify additional works, prepare variation orders and assist with claims and extension-of-time documentation.
• Coordinate with the Maintenance, Project, Procurement and Finance teams on material requirements and cost matters.
• Prepare cost reports and keep accurate documentation for ongoing and completed maintenance works.
• Ensure all estimates and BOQs comply with project specifications and technical requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably in firefighting, fire alarm or fire protection systems.
• Experience in BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, cost estimation and cost control.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards and UAE Civil Defence (DCD) requirements is an advantage.
• Good analytical, communication, coordination and documentation skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• AutoCAD.
