Regional Environmental & Social Coordinator – MENA (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Regional Environmental & Social (E&S) Coordinator will lead the monitoring and continuous improvement of environmental and social compliance for on‑shore wind and solar renewable projects across the MENA region. Reporting to the MENA HSSE Manager and to HQ E&S in France, the coordinator also serves as the Sustainability Officer for the MENA hub.

Key responsibilities

• Report weekly highlights to the MENA HSSE Manager and participate in HQ HSSE coordination meetings.
• Deploy and ensure effective implementation of TotalEnergies E&S standards, procedures and sustainability programmes across the hub.
• Promote E&S awareness, deliver training, and share best practices among hub teams.
• Support the hub’s sustainability action plan and the Company’s 5‑Levers programme.
• Provide E&S support to projects during development, ensuring compliance with local laws, company standards and international frameworks (IFC, EBRD, ADB).
• Conduct risk assessments, screenings and due‑diligence reviews for internal approval processes.
• Supervise the preparation of E&S studies (ESIA, ESMP, SEP, RAP, BAP), define scopes of work, evaluate consultants and control quality.
• Engage with external stakeholders—including authorities, lenders and civil society—during site visits and permit acquisition.
• Prepare E&S requirements for contractors and ensure integration of study outcomes into EPC contracts.

Required profile

• Experience working on on‑shore wind and solar renewable projects in the MENA region.
• Ability to act as the focal point for environmental, social and sustainability programmes.
• Strong coordination skills with both regional and headquarters teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of international E&S standards (IFC, EBRD, ADB).
• Experience with ESIA, ESMP, SEP, RAP and BAP studies.
• Risk assessment and due‑diligence expertise.
