Registered Nurse II – Women Urgent Care

About the role

The Registered Nurse II – Women Urgent Care provides rapid assessment, triage and emergency nursing care for women presenting with acute obstetric and gynecological conditions. Working in the urgent care unit of Danat Al Emarat, a specialty women’s and children’s hospital in Abu Dhabi, the nurse ensures patient safety, dignity and timely intervention.

Key responsibilities

• Perform rapid triage and clinical assessment of urgent obstetric and gynecological cases.
• Monitor maternal and fetal wellbeing, including fetal heart rate monitoring (CTG) when required.
• Prioritize patients based on severity and initiate appropriate emergency protocols.
• Provide emergency nursing care for vaginal bleeding, abdominal pain, early pregnancy complications and postpartum concerns.
• Assist physicians and midwives during emergency procedures and examinations.
• Administer medications, IV therapy and other prescribed treatments safely.
• Recognize signs of patient deterioration and coordinate multidisciplinary response.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, follow‑up care and warning signs.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and adhere to infection‑control policies.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse license with experience in obstetric and gynecological emergency care.
• Ability to perform rapid triage, prioritize care and recognize patient deterioration.
• Knowledge of infection‑control standards and patient confidentiality.
• Strong communication skills for coordination with physicians, midwives, anesthetists and laboratory services.
