Registered Nurse - Intensive Care (IP)

About the role

Royal Khalifa City Hospital Abu Dhabi is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Intensive Care (IP) unit. The nurse works as part of an interprofessional team, upholding the NMC Nursing Strategy to deliver safe, compassionate care, and contributes to a learning culture among nurses in the specialist field.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and identify patients' needs, perform systematic assessments and re-assessments, and determine nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes.
• Create and evaluate patient care plans with the interprofessional team, in collaboration with patients and their families.
• Implement and monitor the patient's medical plan and treatment, and educate patients and the public about health conditions.
• Provide advice and emotional support to patients and their families.
• Maintain technical and clinical skills, understand diagnostic tests and laboratory examinations, and assist in invasive and non-invasive procedures.
• Perform essential life support such as BLS, PALS, ACLS and neonatal resuscitation, and support safe admission, transfer and discharge.
• Support audit and data collection for KPIs and benchmarking, and support the nurse educator with training programmes and needs analysis.

Required profile

• Valid license to work as a registered nurse in the relevant regulatory health authority, with all required qualifications and experience.
• Post-graduate specialist qualification, diploma, degree or master's in the specialty, with previous experience in the specialist field and completed relevant competencies.
• Ability to manage own professional re-licensure.
• Willingness to work across departments when necessary.
• Clear spoken and written English; Arabic communication is desirable.

Required skills

• Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
• Specialist nursing knowledge and clinical skills in the intensive care field.
