Registered Nurse – Outpatient Department

About the role

The Registered Nurse – OPD will work within the scope of practice, prioritising patient health, wellbeing and safety. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care in the outpatient department, collaborating with physicians and allied health professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and families about health conditions, and offer emotional support.
• Perform systematic patient assessments, collect and analyse health data, and determine nursing diagnoses.
• Develop, implement and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the interprofessional team.
• Record vital signs, recognise abnormalities, and escalate issues as needed.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products and monitor for reactions.
• Deliver wound‑care management and assist in invasive or non‑invasive medical procedures.
• Prepare patients for examinations and treatments, and facilitate safe admission, transfer and discharge.
• Maintain up‑to‑date clinical skills, including Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation.

Required profile

• Valid licence to practice as a registered nurse with the relevant UAE health authority.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
• Ability to work across departments and communicate clearly in English, both spoken and written.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an inter‑professional team.
• Organisational and administrative competence with electronic medical record systems; Arabic communication skills are a plus.
