Registered Nurse – Pediatric

About the role

The Royal Hospital Sharjah is seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in pediatric care. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for children and neonates, ensuring patient safety and wellbeing at all times.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric and neonatal patients, including admission, transfer and discharge processes.
• Perform systematic patient assessments, record vital signs, and develop individualized care plans with the inter‑professional team.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Deliver wound care, phototherapy, and support for chemotherapy patients, including cytotoxic drug handling.
• Assist physicians with invasive and non‑invasive procedures and perform emergency interventions such as BLS, PALS and neonatal resuscitation.
• Maintain and update clinical competencies via the Elsevier platform and adhere to evidence‑based practice.

Required profile

• Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the UAE and a current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
• Willingness to work across departments, be on call when needed, and manage personal professional re‑licensure.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Neonatal resuscitation proficiency.
• IV therapy skills, including peripheral IV line and port‑a‑cath needle insertion.
• Administration of cytotoxic drugs and chemotherapy patient care.
• Phototherapy management and wound care techniques.
• Medication administration and vital signs monitoring.
