Registered Nurse - Pediatric Urgent Care

About the role

Danat Al Emarat is a specialty women's and children's hospital in Abu Dhabi offering neonatology, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology and women's health, including a dedicated fetal medicine department and a Level III NICU. Its Pediatric Urgent Care provides prompt assessment, diagnosis and treatment for infants, children and adolescents with urgent but non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, in a child-friendly, family-centered environment. The role is open to registered nurses.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, triage and monitor pediatric patients with urgent but non-life-threatening conditions
• Perform physical assessments and obtain medical histories from patients and caregivers
• Administer medications, treatments, immunizations and therapeutic interventions safely
• Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with examinations, diagnostics and minor emergency treatments
• Manage common conditions such as fever, respiratory infections, asthma, dehydration, minor fractures, lacerations, allergic reactions and gastrointestinal illness
• Collect and process laboratory specimens and support diagnostic testing
• Monitor treatment response and report changes in condition
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, home care and follow-up
• Perform wound care, splinting and nebulization therapy within scope of practice
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and comply with infection prevention, patient safety and quality standards
• Coordinate care and referrals to specialty services, emergency departments or inpatient units
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, support emergency preparedness and take part in quality improvement and staff education

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in nursing
• DOH nursing license
