Repair and Maintenance Technician - LWD I (UAE National)

About the role

As an R&M Technician - LWD I, you will support the repair, maintenance, assembly, testing and calibration of Logging While Drilling (LWD) tools and equipment. This is an entry-level opportunity ideal for fresh graduates or early-career professionals who want to build technical expertise in drilling technologies. The role is based in the UAE and calls for a hands-on approach, attention to detail, a commitment to safety and the ability to work well in a team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Level I repairs, inspections and function testing on LWD downhole tools such as drivers, pulsers, batteries, gamma tools, BAPs, IDSs, interconnects, flow diverters, MFRs, NDTs and collars.
• Carry out gamma verifications and calibrations, IDS check stand roll tests, neutron density calibrations and MFR air hangs.
• Assemble and disassemble LWD tool strings, program tools and run function tests.
• Conduct pulser wet tests, main valve replacements and tip/orifice replacements, and assemble and disassemble lithium batteries.
• Complete service records and maintenance documentation, keeping electronic and hard-copy files accurate.
• Support failure analysis, update reliability databases, complete work orders and technical reports, and assist team members and workshop operations.
• Mentor trainees when requested, maintain workshop equipment and work areas, and follow quality, health, safety and environmental procedures.

Required profile

• Fresh graduate with a diploma in engineering or a related field; recent graduates interested in mechanical, electrical or drilling technologies are encouraged to apply.
• Basic technical knowledge from studies, internships, projects or laboratory work is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel internationally when required.
